Fun Fact

The first guide to designing and operating a machine shop was published in 1906, written by William Perrigo, a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

As a $55 Billion industry, machine shops are an important part of the US economy. They use lathes, mills, grinders, saws and other types of machines to turn pieces of raw materials into finished parts. Many machine shops are also adding 3D Printing capabilities. Although traditionally machine shops have worked with metals, as the drive for converting metals to plastics has increased, so has the number of machine shops that work with plastic. At Polymershapes, we can provide all of a machine shop’s plastic needs in convenient local warehouses, many with same or next day delivery available.
